Nigerian Spessartite Garnet

Mineralogically, Spessartites are manganese – Aluminium Garnets and they are the end members of the Pyrope – Almandine – Spessartite series. Nigerian Spessertite garnet nodules are in beautiful color shades of classic orange, flame orange, orangish red and tangerine colors. They are highly durable with a hardness of 7.0 to 7.5. The density is 4.12 to 4.18. They have very high Refractive index from 1.79 to 1.82, and thus one of the brightest gems.
